• AARP Fraud Watch Network - Membership not required

• Fraud.org - Run by the non-profit National Consumers League, this project tracks the "Top Ten Scams" of the year and provides plain-language breakdowns of fake check schemes, internet auction fraud, and predatory online marketplaces. 

• AnnualCreditReport.com - This is the only official, government-mandated site to request your free credit reports from the three major bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion). Checking this regularly is the most reliable way to ensure no unauthorized accounts or credit inquiries have been opened in your name. 

• FINRA BrokerCheck - If you receive an unsolicited investment opportunity, cold call, or high-pressure financial pitch, you can look up the individual or firm here. It displays their licensing status, employment history, and any past disciplinary actions or consumer complaints.
