Dear Residents,
Please Add This Event To Your Calendar - Hello Water Garden residents, we are in need of your help and support at the Monday, February 12 Maple Valley council meeting at 7pm at the Lake Wilderness Lodge. We need twice as many people to come as have in the past. If you can find the time, and can bring your spouse or partner as well, and your neighbor too, we need all the bodies we can get at next Monday's City Council Meeting.
Your Neighbors are Affected - Approximately a dozen or so residents have been impacted by the business that operates next door to our development, A/C Custom Metal Works. The property is zoned residential, not commercial. The business there has greatly impacted our quiet life at Water Garden. Constant hammering, welding, grinding, painting, the constant odors and dirt particles. Last but not least, the loud music that is played goes on all day and sometimes well into the night.
Illegal Businesses are Impacting Your Neighbors in many ways - There is a home also located on the property that is used as a rental that has it share of issues as well, the accumulation of vehicles that are in various stages of disrepair, sometimes up to 35 cars there, looks like Maple Valleys newest Jack yard. Those cars are worked on at times into the night with their loud music playing . There has also been concerns of hazardous waste polluting the soil there from oils and chemicals being dumped onto the property. Several of Water Garden residents have had parts thrown into their yards by these renters, some can’t sleep in their bedrooms and have to relocate to a couch at night because of the work and noise going on there. We also believe that drugs are being used there, cars coming and going at all hours of the night. Last June there was an apparent Fentanyl overdose there where two sheriff cars responded along with an ambulance and also Medical One.
A Month Ago, Eviction Was Promised - As of last month the Maple Valley council seemed to be onboard with shutting down A/C Metal works and the residents of the house were to be evicted, involving the sheriff department if needed. We were told that A/C metal business was now shut down and that the renters were to be out in January, neither has happened, the business is still open and the rental home is still working on cars.
It Looks Like Things Are Going Sideways - As of right now Maple Valley has changed their mind and is in the process of working out a Voluntary Compliance agreement with the business owner and the renters of the home to possibly stay put.
Those Businesses Are and Remain Illegal - Maple Valley should have NEVER allowed this business to be there in the first place, remember the property is zoned residential, NOT COMMERCIAL.
The Mayor of Maple Valley was Unaware of this Situation, and has Asked Us to Show Up in Force - We need people to come to the council meeting on the Feb 12 and speak out against having this business in our back yard subjecting us to all that goes on there. We need numbers at the meeting so try and come, carpool if needed. Please come to show support and to speak out against this being allowed.
Thanks, Water Garden Residents for a Better community.
