To Water Gardens residents,
Thank you so much for showing your support at last nights Maple Valley council meeting. On the council agenda last night was the issue with A/C Metal Works which is located next to Water Gardens, affecting up to dozens of residents in Water Gardens.
The council was briefed by both Tawni Dalziel, Director of Maple Valley’s code enforcement department along with one of the attorneys working on this case. Unfortunately working on this issue has consumed much time, resources and money for Maple Valley. This has been a top priority with Maple Valley to see this to the end with a favorable end for the city and also Water Gardens residents. Right now superior court proceedings are going on with the eviction of the renters in the house on the property. Unfortunately it takes time to do this because of renter’s rights. Besides the car repair business going on there, there is much ground contamination on the property from their business. The city is also working with the gate business to shut that down as well but is being challenged by the gate company. Having a business within a residential zoned area is not allowed unless certain guidelines are met, which the gate business is far from following and has admitted that they can’t meet those guidelines.
We have been dealing with this issue for the last 3 years, we hope to have all this disappear soon.
Again thank you Water Gardens residents so much for your support on this issue. Will keep you updated as things develop.
